Subject: RE: [xdi] How to store XDI as key/value pairs

Bill, RE Friday, great, we’ll try to arrange a dial-in and I’ll post it to the list.

RE Markus’s proposal, agreed it only affects implementations and is not in the scope of the spec.

Hi Drummond,

My email issue with OASIS is still unresolved, so sending this direct. I'd very much like to do the dial-in.  I agree the storage mechanism proposed by Markus looks interesting, though I think that should be left up to implementers, not be part of the spec.

Bill

Markus, this is very, very interesting. Those of us who are attending Internet Identity Workshop have already started discussing this here – we’ll try to post any notes about the outcome of the discussions.

Also, it looks like we’ll have at least six of us for the informal XDI TC meeting on Friday. We could try to arrange a dial-in if others want to attend – we’d probably go from about 10AM PT until about 3PM ET with a break for lunch.

Please post if you’d like to dial-in for all or part of that session (no guarantees, but we’ll see what we can do).

I spent some time trying to figure out how one would store an XDI graph in a key/value pair based datastore (e.g. Berkely DB), which is probably much more efficient than anything else.

The main requirement is that all basic operations on the XDI graph be possible without any trouble.

Here is how I would do it, feel free to comment if you have time:
