Minutes: XDI TC Telecon Thursday 1-2PM PT 2008-09-11

Following are the minutes of the unofficial telecon of the XDI TC at:

1) GENERAL UPDATE

Since we hadn't met for two months, we started out with general updates.
Drummond and John reported on the progress of the XRI TC/W3C TAG
discussions, and were optimistic that continued progress could be made
relatively quickly.

Giovanni said that he had been following both those discussions and the link
contract discussions on the list.

Markus reported that he hasn't needed to develop any further utilities for
XDI4J over the summer but that work has been going on in Higgins to do an
XDI-to-IdAS mapping.

This mapping enables Higgins IdAS (Identity Attribute Service) to be exposed
via an XDI service endpoint. The XDI service takes XDI requests and maps
them to IdAS calls.


2) STANDING RULE BALLOT

The ballot we had in July on the following Standing Rule unfortunately did
not receive enough votes to pass in the majority (10 Yes, 0 No out of 20
voting members). We need to reintroduce this ballot, which we'll do after
our next call.


3) XDI AND W3C TAG DISCUSSION ON XRI

There is an increasing urgency for the XRI "short form" syntax being used in
the XDI RDF model to be submitted to the XRI TC for consideration. The next
step is to do a formal writeup for submission.
