Subject: Minutes: XDI TC Telecon Thursday 1-2PM PT 2009-01-15

Following are the minutes of the unofficial telecon of the XDI TC at:

Date: Thursday, 15 January 2009 USA
Time: 1:00PM - 2:00PM Pacific Time (21:00-22:00 UTC)

ATTENDING

Tatsuki Sakushima
Drummond Reed
Nick Nicholas
Giovanni Bartolomeo
Bill Barnhill
John Bradley
Markus Sabadello

AGENDA

1) XDI ADDRESSER

Markus explained his latest XDI RDF utility:

	http://graceland.parityinc.net/xdi-addresser/XDIAddresser

It has several different functions for experimenting with XDI addresses.

2) SOLVING THE RUBIK'S CUBE OF THE XDI 1.0 RDF METAGRAPH MODEL

Drummond uploaded a PDF with a new set of diagrams illustrating the
metagraph model and how it describes the graph model.

diagrams-v2.pdf

He also updated the XDI RDF Graph Model wiki page with new text descriptions
of each metagraph predicate and references to the diagrams.

	http://wiki.oasis-open.org/xdi/XdiOne/RdfGraphModel

Drummond explained that the key insight to "solving the Rubik's cube" was
that if the inversion predicat is $is, the metagraph can return to just
providing a description of the base graph. The metagraph statements and
corresponding diagrams for doing that are in the PDF.

Bill then explained the RDF in his email:

	http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/xdi/200901/msg00036.html

We had a long discussion about the semantics of $has and $has$a because they
both describe an outgoing arc in the base graph. The discussion tracked many
of the points being made in emails on the list. Discussion centered around
the RDF assertions that correspond to the metagraph assertions. Nick and
Drummond differed from Bill's RDF in terms of the proposed distinction
between $has and $has$a. Bill suggested that Nick and Drummond come up with
a RDF example of the distinction.

# NICK and DRUMMOND to discuss further and post to the list.

3) MULTI-PART SPEC DESIGN AND NEXT STEPS WITH THE FIRST WORKING DRAFT

Drummond had his questions answered by Mary McRae about how a multi-part
specification should work. See the DITA example:

	http://docs.oasis-open.org/dita/v1.1/OS/overview/overview.html

Given this model, Drummond has updated the specification names on:

	http://wiki.oasis-open.org/xdi/XdiOneSpecs

If there is consensus on this, our next step is to choose a template and
begin the first Working Drafts.
