AGENDA

(Per the action items agreed in last week's meeting, plus one new one)

1) SUBJECT/PREDICATE/OBJECT DISTINCTIONS

Go over Giovanni's email about his concerns  about current patterns for expressing subjects, predicates, objects and  contexts in the XDI global graph.

   http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/xdi/201010/msg00020.html

Drummond posted a response at:

  http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/xdi/201010/msg00022.html

Drummond walked the TC through the response he posted.

Giovanni suggested that Drummond's picture is in fact an overlap of multiple graphs. This can be a problem from a semantic point-of-view because the graph can be interpreted differently depending on the node you start from, and on the arcs you consider in moving from one node to the other (i.e. the "path" you follow might correspond to a semantically invalid statement).

# ACTION: Giovanni will write up an example of the issue(s) about which he is concerned.

2) PROPOSED CONSTRUCTS/OPERATORS FOR XDI

Giovanni posted the following wiki page:

  http://wiki.oasis-open.org/xdi/XdiNewFoundation

We discussed the final question on the page. Markus pointed out that in object-oriented programming there are three basic types of relationships: association, aggregation, and composition, but that XDI didn't need to make the distinction right now.

Giovanni tended to agree with Markus to keep it simple at this time and only deal with aggregation.

# ACTION: Giovanni will add one more construct, reification.

Giovanni said the next steps should be:

 * All TC members review these constructs/operators.
 * Then we will do the mapping to XRIs.

3) DICTIONARY STRUCTURE

Mike has prepared a basic dictionary structure in Python for personal attributes. Drummond was not able to do the mapping to an XDI dictionary structure yet, but will do that tonight.

# ACTION: Mike to send the TC list (or just Drummond) the text output of his Python.

4) NEXT CALL

The next call is next week at the regular time.

------------
ONGOING ISSUES LIST

Each of these is a candidate for the agenda for future calls.

*   Equivalence semantics: close on whether we need an additional $ word   that is the equivalent of Higgins Personal Data Model (PDM)  semantics   of h:correlation, which is not as strong as $is.

* Cool URIs: continue previous discussion about the use of standard RDF URIs in XDI:
