AGENDA

1) GRAPH QUESTIONS
Discuss Giovanni's reply (thread "Addressing Giovanni's concern"):

http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/xdi/201011/msg00000.html

Key points:

 * We agreed that =bob+friend identifies a single XDI node which can then have its own properties to describe properties of Bob's friend set, e.g., how many friends he has.
 * Giovanni said that from his POV the XDI global graph is made of two subgraphs: the first one is a graph containing RDF-like statements (shown in the graph as paths containing dashed arcs); the second one is not an RDF-compliant graph, however it gives information on the mereological structure of the graph (i.e. how XDI contexts are aggregated to form new contexts). This second graph could be formalized through the MM (Minimal Mereology) theory explained here: http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/mereology/#Sup.
 * Drummond pointed out that there are RDF statements that can be composed to express the context aggregation structure. Giovanni said that yes, XDI adds a second feature to RDF, which is the ability of XRIs to express structured identifiers reflecting the merelogical structure of the graph, i.e., aggregation.
 * Drummond agrees that traditional RDF cannot express the context relationships expressed in the XDI graph -- that requires special XDI operators and statements that are not part of conventional RDF.
 * We agreed with Giovanni's point that we should first agree on the basic structure of the graph before agreeing on the operators that will be needed.
 * On Giovanni's final point, Drummond clarified that he was talking about relative vs. absolute graphs. Drummond agrees with Giovanni that absolute statements in the XDI graph must be rooted in the same global root. The subject of "relative graphs" is something the TC must discuss further and document clearly if it will be covered by the specifications.

2) UPDATE ON IIW AND UPCOMING PRIVACY CONFERENCE

We reported on discussions about personal data stores and XDI at the Internet Identity Workshop and mentioned the position paper some of us have submitted as individuals for the upcoming Internet Privacy Workshop:

  http://www.iab.org/about/workshops/privacy/

3) GRAPH MODELS OF BASIC XDI PATTERNS

Drummond showed a small set of XDI graphs illustrating basic patterns using the new graph notation. Giovanni had some specific input regarding the notation and illustrations which Drummond will incoporate and try to post before the next call.

4) NEXT CALL

The next call is next week at the regular time.

------------
ONGOING ISSUES LIST

Each of these is a candidate for the agenda for future calls.

* PROPOSED CONSTRUCTS/OPERATORS FOR XDI

Discuss the following wiki page originally posted by Giovanni:

  http://wiki.oasis-open.org/xdi/XdiNewFoundation

* DICTIONARY STRUCTURE

Mike would like an example of the PDX dictionary as soon as we can do it.

*   EQUIVALENCE SEMANTICS

Close on whether we need an additional $ word   that is the equivalent of Higgins Personal Data Model (PDM)  semantics   of h:correlation, which is not as strong as $is.

* COOL URIS

Continue previous discussion about the use of standard RDF URIs in XDI:
