THE IDEARPAD LINK FOR TODAY IS:
1) XDI 1.0 SPEC DISCUSSION CONTINUED
The following wiki page was refactored per our discussion on last week's telecon:
Bill
and Giovanni were not able to attend today, so the discussion was
limited to talking about how much needs to be in the initial XDI
Dictionary spec. Drummond shared the view that it only needed to be
enough to support the other initial specs, particularly XDI Messaging.
We
also discussed the practical need for an XDI Discovery spec, since
early deployments need discovery. Thankfully that should be very easy
since XDI discovery does not need to add very much on top of the other
specs in the suite.
2) OPENXDI PROJECT UPDATE
We looked at the progress of the codebase and talked about XDI link contracts as the next key item that needs to be implemented.
Markus
noted that the current code base is not yet doing XRI 3.0 parsing
because it hasn't needed to yet, however this will be coming soon as it
will be needed for XDI Discovery. He explainied to Mike the OpenXRI code
components that provide XRI parsing, both 2.0 and 3.0.
3) AUTHENTICATION AND XDI LINK CONTRACTS
Mike
suggested that link contract vocabulary needs to include
machine-readable policy for the authentication requirement, since this
is something OpenXDI needs to implement soon.
# MIKE to send his requirements in an email to the TC.
# DRUMMOND to suggest link contract vocabulary for authentication requirements.
4) NEXT CALL
The next call is next week at the regular time.
------------
ONGOING ISSUES LIST
Each of these is a candidate for the agenda for future calls.
* TRANSACTIONAL INTEGRITY FOR XDI (added 2011-03-24)
Since
versioning, as one example, involves multiple transactions that must
be commited as a group, we will need to address transactional
integrity. Specifically, we need to define how this will be handled at
the protocol level, vs. the implementation level.
* PROPOSED CONSTRUCTS/OPERATORS FOR XDI
Discuss the following wiki page originally posted by Giovanni:
* DICTIONARY STRUCTURE
Mike would like an example of the PDX dictionary as soon as we can do it.
* EQUIVALENCE SEMANTICS
Close on whether we need an additional $ word that is the equivalent
of Higgins Personal Data Model (PDM) semantics of h:correlation,
which is not as strong as $is.
* COOL URIS
Continue previous discussion about the use of standard RDF URIs in XDI:
