Subject: XLIFF 2.0 Suggestion: Document the evolution of a proposed feature from Extensibility to XLIFF core or module
The XLIFF 2.0 specification should document the fact that extensibility is offered as a way for a feature proposer to submit the proposed feature to the XLIFF TC, for consideration in a future version of XLIFF. Something like the following should be included: "Beginning with XLIFF 2.0, XLIFF has a modular architecture. XLIFF has core features, and optional modules. XLIFF's Extensibility is meant to provide a way for a proposed core or module feature to be implemented. A proposed feature implemented with extensibility should include a compliant XML schema. Implementors should ensure that their schema can be successfully added to a local copy of the XLIFF 2.0 catalog (http://docs.oasis-open.org/xliff/xliff-core/v2.0/csprd01/xliff-core-v2.0-csprd01.html#xml_catalog). This feature and schema should be sent to the XLIFF Technical Committee ( https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/comments/index.php?wg_abbrev=xliff ). Owners of proposed features are encouraged to join the XLIFF Technical Committee ( http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/xliff/ )."
