OASIS News 11 August 2003 Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments, and activities for the international standards consortium. --------------------------------------------------------------------- New OASIS Asynchronous Service Access Protocol (ASAP) TC Forms A Call for Participation has been issued for the OASIS ASAP TC, which has been chartered to create a very simple extension of Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) that enables generic asynchronous Web services or long-running Web services. As part of this effort, the chairs are soliciting reports that describe implementation experience with SAML 1.0 and SAML 1.1. Interested participants should join by 11 Sept in order to contribute to the first meeting on 26 Sept at the Lockheed Martin Facility in Manassas, Virginia. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200308/msg00002.html --------------------------------------------------------------------- OASIS XLIFF Committee Spec v1.1 Review Process Begins The OASIS XML Localization Interchange File Format (XLIFF) TC has approved XLIFF 1.1 as a Committee Specification, and now starts a 45-day public review prior to submitting this spec to OASIS members for consideration as an OASIS Standard. XLIFF gives any software provider a single interchange file format that can be understood by any localization provider.
