Subject: CLARIFICATION [xliff] XLIFF Face 2 Face 2003 at LISA Forum USA -Washington DC - December 8-11

Folks:

The offer from LISA regarding attending free of charge only applies to the XLIFF TC meeting - attending other LISA conference events is not free of charge and the usual conference fees apply.

Apologies for the misunderstanding.

Regards,
Tony

All:

LISA has generously offered us a conference room space for a face-to-face meeting at their Washington DC conference in early December.  Meeting rooms are likely available for either Sunday 7 December or Friday 12 December.  Also,  afternoon of the 10th (Wednesday) is possibly available.  The timing of the conference is excellent,  in that we should by then have concluded the OASIS Standards Review process.  It will give us an opportunity to define our work going forward (i.e.,  work on profiles,  localisation directives,  etc).

The Translation Web Services TC as well as the LISA OSCAR standards group will also be having meetings around the time of this conference.  Anyone traveling to Washington specifically for the TC F2F is invited to attend the LISA conference events free of charge.

There is also a possibility of a speaking slot available at the LISA conference.  Please indicate if you have an interest in authoring,  or co-authoring an original paper for presentation at that LISA conference (e.g.,  case study of implementing of XLIFF 1.1, or migration from XLIFF 1.0 to XLIFF 1.1, cost/benefit,  detailed systems architectures, etc.).  If you have an idea for a paper and the ability to author and present,  please get back to me quickly, since available slots are filling up very fast.

I need to get a feel for how many can attend from the TC before proceeding with the next step of planning (i.e.,  confirming room availability for specific dates,  etc.).  Please reply to me indicating your ability to attend,  and preference for day of the F2F (Sunday, Wednesday or Friday) of the proposed meeting.

It's imperative that you get back to me as soon as possible,  even if indicating that you're not certain if you can attend.  Thanks for your attention.

Regards,
Tony
