Need a meeting to discuss the best practices for DITA / XML XLIFF transformations, amongst the issues noted above.
Rodolfa suggested that Tuesday would not be a good idea to have it on Tuesday as this conflicts with the DITA meeting.
Will discuss a proposed date/time to meet and discuss this issue separately.

There were 8 members present as recorded in Kavi.

2/Previous meeting minutes (with quorum): http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/xliff/200604/msg00006.html
Last meeting (2 May) did not achieve quorum - no official minutes were taken: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/xliff/event.php?event_id=11831&day=1146564000
The minutes of the last meeting was approved as a correct record proposed by Doug and seconded by Rodolfo.

3/ Work in Progress:
A. XLIFF 1.2 Specification
a. Final Committee Draft 1.2 spec (draft-xliff-core-1.2-20060516) submitted for ballot: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/xliff/email/archives/200605/msg00052.html

Ballot to accept the spec and supporting representation guides as Committee Draft has been submitted to the TC last week: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/xliff/ballot.php?id=1017

The meeting expressed its thanks to Bryan, Doug and Rodolfo for their work in getting the specification complete.

The 1.2 specification was voted as the committee specification with 10 votes in favour and none against or abstaining.

Magnus raised the following issue: The section describing the element in the documentation does not mention that it may contain non-XLIFF elements and attributes.
It was agreed that this would be fixed. The change will then be posted and we will re-ballot.

Doug raised an issue stating that the word draft will be removed. Tony will check the conventions for this.

Rodolfo has agreed to change the section about strict and Transitional schemas. See: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/xliff/email/archives/200605/msg00061.html

The next step is to figure out who needs to be involved in the public review. We will need to publish a revised whitepaper. Rodolfo offered to be involved with this.

Tony clarified the issue with affidavits from companies following a query from Christian. These will become significant when the standard goes to the OASIS standards vote.

Tony raised the issue of IP rights. Our TC is still working from the old OASIS IP policy. We can consider whether we want to move to a transitional IP policy. This involves moving to a royalty free IP policy rather than the RAND IP policy. It was agreed that Tony and Bryan would discuss this issue with Mary McRae to discuss this.
Details of OASIS IP policy: http://www.oasis-open.org/who/ipr/transition_faq.php

B. Representation Guides:

Report for the next meeting.

5/ Reports from liaisons involved with other standards groups:
A. W3C i18n Near last stage with ITS. They have made the last call for comments. Christian emphasised that any comments should be made now. He will forward the request for comment email. Christian suggested it would be good to have documentation on how XLIFF and ITS can work together. If anyone is interested in this they should contact Christian.
B. Oscar Working on TMX 2.0. They are currently preparing the initial suggestions for the next version. One of the objectives is to make TMX and XLIFF totally compatible.
C. Trans-WS Peter outlined that the group has completed documentation for the committee specification and will be proceeding with this. The TCs whitepaper will be published in the next issue of Localisation Focus.
