Subject: RE: [xliff] OASIS XLIFF Workshop Opportunity!

Hi Jane,

We talked about this at the TC meeting. A few of us expressed wishes that we could participate. But nobody could commit. We have TC members in Europe, Australia, North America, and South America; but we no longer have anyone in Asia. I'd hoped that at least someone would be able to tie business to a trip to Taipei, but that did not seem to be the case (I even considered linking it to a trip to visit my daughter in Japan, but the timing would not work).

I'll continue to see if we can get anyone to sign up.

Thanks,

Bryan

Subject: [xliff] OASIS XLIFF Workshop Opportunity!

Dear OASIS Technical Committee Members,

The folks at the LISA organization approached us about hosting an OASIS XLIFF Workshop (one-day) at their upcoming event. The event will be held April 6-12th in Taipei. The organizers would like us to poll our TCs members to see if there might be any interest. They're looking for OASIS members to come together to share the status of the new work being done with the TC, as well as any new implementations. If you or a TC member is interested in learning more about this opportunity, please contact me directly at jane.harnad@oasis-open.org. Thanks in advance.

Regards, Jane

About the event:

http://www.lisa.org/Taipei.859.0.html

The theme for the 2009 LISA Forum Asia, to be hosted in Taipei in April 2009, is Global Design & Innovation. Building on its reputation as a leading manufacturing center, Taiwan is increasingly recognized as a leader in development and design of products sold around the world, a trend seen in mainland China and elsewhere in Asia. As Asian powerhouses expand into global brands, globalization and localization issues, along with training, expertise development, and cultural management, are emerging as critical business concerns. The LISA Forum Asia will focus on how companies in Asia and around the world can implement globalization best practices to expand brand awareness and international customer support.

Audience profile:

Attendees include Corporate Executives, International Managers, Enterprise Globalization Strategists, Company Directors, Knowledge Managers, Global Web Development Specialists, Project Managers, Localization Production Managers and Media Representatives seeking to learn more about how standards in technology and business processes are providing unprecedented ROI and strategic advantages in today's world.

The participants will be decisionmakers and key suppliers, responsible for global information management systems for software publishing companies, telecom and internet service providers, finance, government trade groups, automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical, management consulting, education, localization service companies and internationalization consulting groups.
