Subject: Gathering common extension points from existing XLIFF Tools as aguide for 2.0 features

Hello TC,

I just wanted to mention, as we get ready to start the new year, that I've spoken to Thomas about the excellent suggestion he made at the symposium that we take a look at where the toolmakers are using extension points as a guide to making these standard features.

He (like most of us) is quite busy for the rest of the year, but agreed to help get us started, and to share the information he's gathered so far.

Thanks,

Bryan

Hi Thomas,

I surely understand how busy it is approaching the end of the year. But would you mind if I forward to the XLIFF TC your support and willingness to help on this front, starting next year?

Thanks,

Bryan

Hi Bryan,

I'd be more than glad to help with that.

I'm going to be rather busy up until the end of the year, but let me know how you see this work out practically.

A good overview of all what's available now will be a good start. We should get that online somewhere, preferably in a wiki.

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

I hope all is well for you. I enjoyed your talk at XLIFF. I think you recommended looking at the custom extension the various tool makers have been using, in order to inform the new features we add in XLIFF 2.0. I think this is brilliant. I wonder if you might be interested in helping us to do just that.

Since you've already been thinking about it, I think you might be in a position to get us started.

Thanks,

Bryan
