Subject: CanReorder Validation error

Hi all,

Wondering if there are any suggestions from the discussion list.

Thanks,

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Alas, the only conclusion I came up with (so far) has been that it wasn’t possible to represent nested sequences with the current specification.

Maybe there is something we are missing.

You should post the issue on the list, maybe Fredrik or David have ideas about this case.

Cheers,

Hi Yves, any more thoughts on this?

Thanks,

Yes, that is it exactly.

On second though this is more complicated. You case has the <ph canReorder=’yes’/> between the and <ec/>.

I’m not sure what that means with the <ec/> after: that you can’t reorder the /<ec> but can reorder the <ph>? I’m trying to think of a real scenario.

Maybe:

<b> text with %1s and %2s </b>

The % codes could be reordered, but they must stay within the bold.

...nested sequences. Hum. I wonder if we explored such case.

Some thinking to do.

Last one, I hope. I’m not sure how to handle this test case. The error from http://okapi-lynx.appspot.com/validation page doesn’t make sense to me. Is this a valid document or not? Specifically the sc and ec tags have to have matching canReorder values, but do they also have to be in the same sequence?

Error in <file> id='f1', <unit> id='1'

Last element read: '{urn:oasis:names:tc:xliff:document:2.0}unit':

Marker id='1' in has canReorder='no' but starts a sequence and should have canReorder='firstNo'.
