Subject: Meeting minutes

Hello,

Please find below a summary of today’s discussion:

Attendance: Rodolfo, Bryan, Lucía (we have quorum)

I. Administration
L: I move to approve 16 February meeting minutes.
https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/xliff/email/archives/202007/msg00005.html

R: I second.

L: Meeting minutes approved.

B: Charter renewal. https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/xliff/202102/msg00012.html

R: The new charter has been approved and it is available on the website.

C. OASIS web site updates - Rodolfo https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/xliff/202011/msg00000.html

R: I have updated some sections, but I still need to check with the TC what to do with some sections like the Liaisons or some outdated documents.

L: The liaison, David told us that he would provide updated information. For the outdated documents, I think it would be a good idea to include them in a new section called “Archive” or similar with a warning message informing that the information included there might not be applicable to current XLIFF versions.

R: Ok, we need to update the FAQ section, I will contact Chet because I do not know how to modify that section.

II. Technical work

 A. Test suite correction.

L: I have shared with the members a google sheet document with the results of my evaluation of the files using Rodolfo’s tool
 B. Online Validation Tool. Feedback, next steps.

R: I did not have the time to make new changes.

B. Other:

R: I am thinking about working on a migration guide to help implementers move from 1.2 to 2.0, what do you think?

B: I think it is a good idea.

L: Me too.

R: Bryan, have you worked on a stylesheet to migrate 1.2 to 2.0?

B: No, but I can work on that.

R: After having the guide, I think it would be good to gather information from implementers about their needs and problems.

B: it sounds good to me.

R: I have seen today a file from a tool that creates XLIFF files, it had some invalid attributes that I think could be very useful for implementers. Like a document id in the root element. I think that we could implement minor changes that can be very helpful for implementers. When I was moving from versions 1.2 to 2.0, I realised some minor implementation problems, there were minor but as there were many they can represent a real implementation problem. On this note, I have seen a post on social media about xliff implementation. We should respond as TC to it.

B: Yes, it can be an opportunity to gather feedback and attract new members. Lucía can answer as TC official.

L: Ok, I will prepare a draft and send it to you before posting my answer.

L: No new business, meeting adjourned.
