Subject: person - definition
Greetings! The word for today is: person! For your amusement, FOLDOC reports: person of no account (University of California at Santa Cruz) Used when referring to a person with no network address, frequently to forestall confusion. Most often as part of an introduction: "This is Bill, a person of no account, but he used to be bill@random.com". Wilde's: None Techencyclopedia: None Merriam-Webster: 1. HUMAN, INDIVIDUAL -- sometimes used in combination especially by those who prefer to avoid man in compounds applicable to both sexes <chairperson> <spokesperson> Note that #6 raises the problem of who is a person I mentioned at our last meeting: 6. one (as a human being, a partnership, or a corporation) that is recognized by law as the subject of rights and duties I have changed my mind about this entry and think we should use a fairly standard definition and not concern ourselves with the legal niceties. Afterall the PSI's are supposed to be used in the scope of XML resourcs and if someone want to use them outside that area, they do so at their own risk. Suggestion: Person: A human being. Hope everyone is having a great day!
