Subject: Notes on XRI Editor's Call Fri 11/5

- Attending: Drummond Reed, Gabe Wachob, Mike Lindelsee, Peter Davis,
Fen Labalme, Dave McAlpin

- Discussion about next spec rev - 1.1 or 2.0? Does 2.0 imply a level of
maturity that doesn't exist? Maybe, but shouldn't this be a major
revision (i.e. 2.0) since it's not backward compatible with 1.0?
Consensus seemed to be 2.0, so that's what we'll call it unless someone
objects.

- Discussion about ABNF. Only outstanding issue is a technical question
about which characters should be allowed in authority when authority is
a domain name. Dave to review IRI spec and provide second opinion.
Otherwise, ABNF is considered stable and complete.

- Agreement for standing editors' call on Fridays at 10:00AM Pacific.

- Discussion about splitting out resolution from core spec and combining
it with trusted res. Conclusion was that we'd stay with the current
organization for now (standard res in core, trusted res in separate
spec) but revisit decision periodically.

- Agreement that we should target a content-complete suite of drafts
(Core, Primer, Metadata, Trusted Res) by end of year.

- Assignments for 2.0 specs as follows
  - Primer - Fen will own. First action is to produce an outline for
review.
  - Metadata - Drummond will own. First action is to produce an outline
for review.
  - Trusted Res - Dave will own. Draft is complete and waiting for
review.
  - Core - Dave will own. Sections assigned as follows
    - Section 1 Introduction - Dave
    - Section 2.1 Line by line exposition of ABNF - Mike
    - Section 2.2 Encoding and normal forms - Dave

    - Section 2.4 Normalization and comparison - Dave
