RE: [xri-editors] XML:id is a candidate recommendation

So, Gabe, what do you recommend RE XML:id becoming a W3C candidate rec? It
could be several months before it is approved. Should we just put in a note
to this effect, or do you propose we wait, or...?

The timing couldn't be more awkward, eh?  And somehow I managed to stir
up a minor storm on the discussion list having to do with
canonicalization and signatures and xml:id. I'm not following it all.
