W3C Launches URI Interest Group 2005-02-16: W3C is pleased to announce the relaunch of the URI Activity <http://www.w3.org/Addressing/> . The new URI Interest Group, chaired by Dan Connolly (W3C) and Norman Walsh (Sun Microsystems), is chartered <http://www.w3.org/2004/07/uri-ig-charter.html> through 28 February 2007. The group reviews ongoing work related to Uniform Resource Identifiers <http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3986.txt> (URIs) and Internationalized Resource Identifiers <http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3987.txt> (IRIs) and helps to deploy quality implementations by maintaining testing materials.
