Subject: RE: [xri] Groups - Taxonomy of XRI Forms (JPEG) (taxonomy-of-xri-forms-v1.jpg) uploaded

Gabe,

No problem -- we all get somewhat distracted this time of year.

The conclusion was that we wanted to cut down on the number of forms and
move the transformations into a single "ladder". I captured this in the
minutes I just emailed to the list and this is now also all reflected on the
updated wiki page at:

	http://wiki.oasis-open.org/xri/XriCd02/FormsAndTransformations

The especially nice part about this new approach is that once you go from
native form into XRI-normal form, you can do apple-to-apple comparisions at
any level you like - XRI-normal form, IRI-normal form, URI-normal form, or
safe form. As long as you're working at the same level, everything is
"canonical".

Marty, please do look all this over and send any feedback to the list. Note
that you have the action item to complete the set of steps for
transformation into XRI-normal form, since this form is now "canonical".

I'm sory, I was reaaly out of it today - getting a cold.

Did we come to any conclusion about the multitude of forms? The more I think
about my proposal (making URI form actually "canonical" so its possible to
do char-for-char comparisons on URI-normal form), the more I like it.

Drummond - you were raising some points near the end that could cause
possible issues - I wasn't tracking.. can you summarize?
