Subject: RE: [xri] OpenXRI Syntax 3.0 library

Markus,

I finally got a chance to review the requirements you listed on http://dev.inames.net/wiki/OpenXRI:Syntax_3  in detail, together with the test cases.

Both look excellent. I agree that more detail is needed (as you marked TODO) in some of the requirements; I am happy to work with you on that.

I reviewed the test cases closely and your parsing rules look 100% correct. It reflects nicely the simplicity of the proposed XRI 3.0 syntax.

I look forward to this project providing the implementation feedback we’d like to have before we proceed with the spec.

Thanks,

=Drummond

Subject: [xri] OpenXRI Syntax 3.0 library

Hi all,

As some of you know, I have been experimenting with XDI a bit recently, and since XRI Syntax 3.0 is going to be used for that, I spent some time thinking on what an updated OpenXRI Syntax library would look like that supports 3.0 syntax. For that purpose, I created the following page:

http://dev.inames.net/wiki/OpenXRI:Syntax_3

It outlines what I think are the basic requirements for such a library, and it also has a list of test cases. Maybe Drummond likes to check if they are correct, and also answer the questions at the bottom of the page :)

Apart from XDI implementations, that XRI syntax library obviously also has to support XRI resolution based on 3.0 syntax. So I hereby invite everyone to look at that page and add any additional requirements or thoughts!

Markus
