AGENDA

1) XDI 1.0 - FIRST WORKING DRAFT UPDATE

Eran was not able to attend today's call but sent a note to the list that he
is close to posting initial drafts of his two documents.

# ERAN to post those drafts before Thursday's telecon if possible.

2) XRD 1.0 - DNS RESOLUTION PROPOSAL UPDATE

Peter reported that he has done a second draft but hasn't put it up on the
wiki yet. It is mostly minor error corrections so far. He hasn't yet tackled
the issue of multiple resolution proposals yet, i.e., co-existence of DNS
and HTTP(S) resolution.

The XRD itself can of course advertise methods of discovery, but the root
bootstrap process will need to be specified, and we will need to be able to
distinguish between the DNS and HTTP mechanisms in the advertisements.

# PETER to post second draft before Thursday's call.

Joesph asked about differences between the original DNS resolution proposal
generated back in the first year of the TC's history. Peter explained that
the use of DDDS and PTR records is now much more mature, thanks in large
part to its use in ENUM, so this is a more mature proposal. Peter will look
and try to post some notes about the differences.

Peter also explained that his proposal is generalized mechanism for
converting URIs into an XRD location and does not always require an HTTP(S)
stack.

John noted that the use of DNS as a resolution mechanism could affect our
signature mechanism if we are going to have signatures over binary
encodings. Brian noted that most protocols are 8-bit safe now. It was agreed
we need to keep this in mind.

Brian asked if Peter could take the following action:

# PETER to take a look at the Trust Profiles wiki page and see if there is a
clear fit for a DNS-based trust profile.

3) XRD 1.0 - TRUST MODEL UPDATE

Brian said there is not much new to discuss yet - the next step is that he
wants to put the issue of trust and trust profiles and whether signing
mechanisms can be separated from trust on Thursday's agenda to discuss with
Nat.

# DRUMMOND to put this on Thursday agenda.

# BRIAN to send a note to Nat about prep for this topic.

4) XRI 3.0 - SYNTAX UPDATE

Drummond reported that he is almost done preparing a page for the XDI TC
wiki with an analysis of the usage of the proposed XRI 3.0 syntax in the XDI
RDF model. He has sent this to Nick Nicholas and just heard from him that he
is back from the holidays and ready to go over it.

# DRUMMOND to post this XDI TC wiki page and send a link to the XRI TC list.

# DRUMMOND to review this analysis with Nick prior to Thursday's telecon.

5) SPEC FORMATS

Since we are primed to begin Working Drafts, Drummond suggested arranging a
call between spec editors and TC Administrator Mary McRae so she can share
tips and best practices that will save all the editors time.

# DRUMMOND to arrange this call, if possible early next week.

6) NEXT CALL

Our next call is the standard Thursday time slot, 2-3PM PT (22:00-23:00
UTC).
