Subject: Updated mailto: binding
All: I just wanted to point up that I updated the WIKI for the mailto: binding[1] some highlights are: 1. You can serve the email address in the XRD if you would like for the address to be public (which could be for help@ex..., info@ex... and etc.) 2. If you want to keep the address private you only serve the domain which can resolve the email address privately. Serving only the domain can also be used to masquerade the resolution process if that is a need. 3. (and 4) you can direct the two above scenarios to another service which would host the email address and either serve up the email address or domain to send the address to. I think the above works pretty well, within the principles of both XRI (resolve) and SMTP (relay). I've set up http://shortxri.net to work using methods 3 and 4. I know we're still working through the XRD 2.0 format and LRRDs stuff so the document may be out of sync or mix concepts, therefore I apologize in advance and invite you all to use the power of the wiki and just-a-change whatever is wrong. Cheers, Nika [1]http://wiki.oasis-open.org/xri/XriThree/EmailBinding
