I agree with Eran: yes, the key difference between Subject and Alias is that Subject is canonical (zero or one), whereas Alias is not (zero or more). But other than that, they are both identifiers for the subject, so they should have the same syntactical structure (xs:anyURI with the same match attribute).

I think we need to add support for beginswith to the Alias element. We
positioned Alias as an alternative to Subject which means we should be
able to switch between them freely. They should have the same syntax and
attributes, but different meaning (and cardinality).
