Subject: FW: Protocol Action: 'Web Linking' to Proposed Standard
Great news! The IESG has approved Web Linking as a proposed standard and will publish the document as an RFC. According to IETF rules, the approved draft is a final specification and normative references are allowed to both the approved draft and RFC (which takes up to 6 months for publication). More good news: the last committee draft referenced the exact same draft approved by the IESG. This means that the only two changes made to the last CD are: * Changed the mime type registration file extension from 'none' to 'xrd' * Fixed an example --- Mary: - Is another review period required for the two changes above? - How does OASIS handle cases where a CS references a final and approved IETF standard pending publication as an RFC? Ideally, we would be able to continue to an OASIS standard vote and replace the current reference with the RFC number once published (since it will be exactly the same document). Drummond: - Please start a new vote to promote WD16 to a CD and then CS (assuming we need two votes).
