- Comparing Output and Role of Canonical XML - Lynda, Carmelo, Kirill
   - Kirill - not much activity since last time
            - still issues for HTML
   - Lynda - presentation at SD at end of August by Lynda and Kirill
           - demoed simple web service of infoset/canonicalization
- Discretionary Items - Dave, Kirill
   - cannot be closed yet as early reviews indicate more issues may be needed
   - should document that components of early prototypes are subject to change

Outstanding action items
  - 20000906-ACT-8: (Ken) model and prototype XML report and exclusion instance
       - David to submit more commented DTDs
       - Ken to publish prototype 5 when new input arrives
       - agree for now that the MSDOS platform will be used to demonstrate
         use of all components of the committee deliverables

instance and XHTML production working with Ken's results

               postponement of publishing test cases in these areas

    - Carmelo's proposals - some issues of workflow need to be addressed,
                            but looks good so far
    - will note to submitters that although we are specifically asking
      for number tests, that we would accept tests in all areas as a
      preliminary submission for research purposes (non-number tests
      need not follow the committee catalogue for research use)

    - Lynda and Carmelo work-in-progress
    - new standing committee agenda item for next meeting
  - conference in December
    - Lynda - scheduled to speak in Orlando at XML'2001 December 14
            - will update overview article used earlier
