Subject: [xslt-conformance] Last Call for your opinion about publicavailability of submitted tests, pre-review
Should the public at large be able to see the test cases submitted to OASIS before they're reviewed? (i.e., the raw submission) There are three ways we could resolve this that come to mind right away (other ideas welcome): A. Yes, make it part of the conditions (just like the release for OASIS to disseminate) that submissions will go public as soon as someone on the Committee finds them in the upload area. B. [Seems to be disallowed] C. No, we only publish a combined suite after review and packaging. If you don't respond to this message, we will assume that (A) is satisfactory. Further assume that under scenario (A), there will be prominent labels that tests are unreviewed and might not actually be proper conformance tests. The question now boils down to what we do with a submission: either (A) publish it right away or (C) review it and publish what we want later. Under (C), we don't commit to any sort of secrecy about the tests (per OASIS policy), it's just the lazier option because (A) takes more effort to put the submissions up on the Web. From my individual view, (C) is looking attractive because it's less work. It doesn't matter too much either way, though. I think we should do something to stay visible, but publishing submissions is not directing attention to our added value. Anyone else have any final thoughts before we conclude this question? .................David Marston
