4&5. Discussion on comments from the Privacy Sub-team of the NHIN Specifications Factory.

Richard Franck discussed his understanding of the XSPA message flow between PDP, PEP, and PIP under the topic “intended conformance points.”  Duane agreed and clarified the profile deals with attributes which can be used in many ways.  The term “dissenting” was discussed and their intended use with obligations.  Distinction was made between passing directives through obligations and policies derived from the PIP.  Richard proposed profile takes us “80% there” and suggested additional work by the committee would be of great value to healthcare exchanges.  The TC agreed to continue developing the ideas that could be proposed for version 2 on the list and in the TC meetings.

4a. Proposal to close comment 3: “Does the “hl7” in this attribute name really belong?”

CLOSED

4b. Proposal to close comment 6 & 7 “Add an attribute “Rule Start Date” and “Rule End Date” to the XSPA XACML profile.”

CLOSED (After the discussion above Richard was leaning toward postponing this request until version 2.)

5a. Nature of the XSPA profile of XACML and “intended conformance points.”

Discussed and in general agreement.

5b. Specific points about attribute names and item 11 (comment 8c) on the spreadsheet:

Mike Davis suggested an enumeration of the ASTM roles that would include the SNOMED codes.  Mike and David will be meeting with ASTM to set up a ballot and will share the proposed changes with Richard for his comments.

5c. Correction of namespace for subject-id i.e. urn:oasis:names:tc:xacml:1.0:subject:subject-id:”

David will look into the possibility of changing the XACML committee specification but it may be too late.  Use of xacml:2.0 did not cause a problem in the HIMSS demonstration but made have reflected the software used.

6. Open discussion

7. Issue list

David will circulate the spreadsheet with proposed updates.  Richard will review and propose additions/changes.

Regards,

David
