Added Agenda Item

Colleagues,

Dee has suggested an RSA or HIMSS demonstration for March 2010 (below).  We can discuss the opportunity at our 1PM EST XSPA meeting today.

David

Dee,

VA would be supportive of the concept of an RSA XSPA demonstration on the Exhibition floor.  I think we could repeat the HIMSS demo and add new material focused on the approved OASIS XSPA SAML/XACML Profile standards.

The Exhibitor registration is still open as far as I know.

We would need to move quickly and establish sponsors.

Hi Dee

The InterOps proved very worthwhile in mustering the resources to 1) finalize a profile and 2) facilitate attestations of use.  The next XSPA profiles will be WS-Trust and an international profile of XSPA standards.  I think we should plan on another InterOp once WS-Trust nears completion and maybe another European InterOp once the international profile is done (that would include WS-Trust, SAML, and XACML).

So, there is no InterOp planned for HIMMS or RSA this year, as far as I know.  I did learn that a proposal was made to add XSPA-defined attributes into an IHE profile this week.  I do not know if the proposal was accepted but it could trigger an XSPA demonstration at the HIMSS’11 conference.  Maybe we could have an InterOp of the WS-Trust profile at that time in collaboration with the IHE XSPA-defined attribute work?

Regards,

David

HIMMS and RSA are the same time next year. Any discussion about another Interop at either event?

3. Status of the XSPA profiles of SAML and XACML

The XSPA profile of XACML and the XSPA profile of SAML have been approved as OASIS standards as of November 2.

4. OASIS press release

OASIS is working on a press release describing XSPA scheduled for November 24.  If your organization is involved in the XSPA effort and does not want to be included in the release, contact Carol Geyer:

http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/xspa/email/archives/200911/msg00004.html

5. Discussion of the XSPA profiles at HITSP

The HITSP Security, Privacy, and Infrastructure TC reviewed the XSPA standards in their November 3-5 face to face.  The XSPA profile of SAML was adopted as a normative standard. The XSPA profile of XACML was included as an informative standard, since it describes the internal access control system implementation.  The XSPA Standards have been added to the access control construct (TP20) and is being prepared for public review:

6. XSPA profile of WS-Trust

Please review current draft, comments requested.  Should the TC participate in an InterOp at a public venue (as before) or perform a virtual InterOp as done by the WSSX.

http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/document.php?document_id=30962

7. Use of XSPA for non-US Realm

The TC needs to start a draft of the use of XSPA for international audiences.

8. Additional discussion.  Additional work items invited.

9. Action Items

Regards,

David
