4. XSPA Reference Implementation, Test and Certification

 

Duane gave an update on the XSPA Reference Implementation, Test and Certification work and weekly meetings.  Duane invited more participation by OASIS members.

6. President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) document

 

Mike discussed the “Report to the President Realizing the Full Potential of Health Information Technology to Improve Healthcare for Americans: The Path Forward,” recently released by PCAST. Mike announced VA will be presenting a demonstration of NwHIN Direct at HIMSS 2011 and that Mike has been invited to demonstrate how the XSPA profiles can be used to support the capabilities described in the PCAST report.  The current plan is to provide a use case involving data tagged as having “mental health” sensitivities.

 

John Moehrke was in favor of pushing the XSPA work forward at HIMSS 2011.
