Subject: [ciq] Fw: January 30 meeting
Hi CIQ TCians Please see Joe Lubenow's e-mail below regarding his meeting with USPS and other groups and his CIQ presentation. The presentation material is now on the CIQ web site under "Presentations" section. Regards Ram ------------- Forwarded message ------------- Ram, the meeting January 30 in Fort Myers went well, and I presented your PowerPoint to about 20 people including USPS, US industry, and European attendees. I provided a file to the USPS for future reference. Holger Wandt was in attendance and gave a presentation on the work of the CEN technical committee which he leads. Attached are two presentations that I made, one on the USPS product redesign as it applies to addressing, the other my summary of the overall situation with respect to address element technology. There are two particular issues on which I think the IDEAlliance (formerly GCA) committee work has something to offer, namely, the combination of address elements with mailing production elements, and the concept of rendition instructions to control the final presentation of the data on the mailpiece. Of course, there are several strong points in both the OASIS CIQ TC work and the European CEN efforts that we need to learn from, such as the knowledge of additional elements, the strengths in modeling of the CEN, and the broader focus on customer data and the application independent approach that you have fostered. I look forward to working with you in the future, and now that I have joined OASIS, I hope to benefit from that opportunity.
