Subject: RE: [dita] "The DITA iceberg" presentation at DITA Europe 2016

I read this as an explicit requirement for:

1) lightweight DITA
2) a way to extend lightweight DITA, all the way back up to full DITA

I think that's a great idea as well - we've gone part of the way with lightweight DITA, but getting to the point of a smooth continuum would definitely require rework on the full DITA architecture to more completely modularize it.

I love the idea of a smaller "standard DITA", and I look forward to months/years of entertaining discussion while "what's in" gets hammered out.

Attached is a PDF from a session done by Leigh White, IXIASOFT, at this
year's DITA Europe conference. (I'll follow up later with some
additional PDFs from other sessions.)

I'd like to ask TC members to read and consider it; I'm looking forward
to discussion on the list.
