Do you mean it was not a success if you wrote directly in docbook but it was successful if used as an intermediate format from asciidoc? BTW, the last time I tried asciidoc I found these limitations: - you cannot validate it. You can validate the docbook output but then you have to relate that back to the original asciidoc input which means working at two levels at once. - it supports db4 rather than db5. This is probably not a big deal especially when dblatex supports only db4 but still worth noting. Is your xslt script posted anywhere?
