Subject: Re: [ekmi] [Fwd: MIP Kickoff Meeting Minutes]

I did not interpret Landon's issues as anything towards you personally.  I don't know, maybe you and he have some history I am not aware of.  Landon said that he was "instructed" to abstain on any motions having to deal with the EKMI committee.  I don't know why and he wouldn't say who instructed him to do so.
Oh well.
I thought the meeting went fairly well.  I left for for the ending keynote, but stayed for the presentations after the meeting had ended.
After the presentations were complete, I expressed my personal opinion that KMIP does not address a number of use cases for devices that use and consume keys, but many people in the room disagreed.  I also expressed my opinion that the "standards" that exist today need to start to really be "standards" and not niche solutions.  Again, my viewpoint was in the minority, but Bob and some others at least were open to discussion.

Ben, I can be liason if you think that Landon will cause trouble.  I have no history with him or with Cisco on any standards work.

Benjamin,
thanks for the email. I could not attend the KMIP kickoff yesterday
due to travel.

Since I am listed on the KMIP TC as a member (and so is Tim Bruce), we
can be
the liaisons.

Regards,
Anil
