Subject: FW: [members] Public Review of ElectionML v4.0

I hope you will have all seen this recent notice.  This is the next step in moving EML to a full OASIS standard as we discussed at our last meeting.  I propose to convene a further TC meeting on 21st November to review the comments back from this public review and approve the next stage in the process.  We can also review the actions list of proposed changes to version 4.

Will you please note your diaries with this date and a 15.00 UK (10.00 USA Eastern) time start.

Regards
John

Subject: [members] Public Review of ElectionML v4.0

To:  OASIS members, public announce lists

The OASIS Election and Voter Services TC has approved the following specification as a Committee Draft and approved the package for public review:

Part 1: EML Process & Data Requirements Version 4.0
Part 2: EML Schema Descriptions Version 4.0

The public review starts today, 15 September 2005, and ends 14 November 2005.  This is an open invitation to comment.  Please feel free to distribute this announcement within your organization and to other appropriate mail lists.

Public review from potential users, developers and stakeholders is an important part of the OASIS process to assure interoperability and quality.  Comments are solicited from all interested parties.

More non-normative information about the specification and the technical committee may be found at the public home page of the TC at http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/election/. Comments may be submitted to the TC by any person, by a web-form that can be reached either on that page, via the button marked  "Send A Comment" at the top of that page, or directly at  http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/comments/form.php?wg_abbrev=election.

Submitted comments (for this work as well as other works of that TC) are publicly archived and can be viewed at http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/election-services-comment/. All comments submitted to OASIS are subject to the OASIS Feedback License, to assure that the comment may be freely re-used by the TC;  the license terms can be found on the comment web-form.
