Subject: Energy Delivery, Space and EMIX
One of the controversial parts of EMIX (meaning comment generating) is that among other things, a price node can be swapped for a geographic area. This allows a message to change from “Your price (at your meter) will go up 50% this afternoon” to “the price will go up for everyone in Marin County” this afternoon. This is actually communicated using the OGC specification KML. KML is, among other things, used to pin things on Google Earth. The OGC is directly engaged in the Emergency Communications groups in OASIS. See the note below. Perhaps we should be using this profile instead of KML. I must confess, that I am not very sure of the differences… tc "It is the theory that decides what can be observed." - Albert Einstein
From: Carl Reed [mailto:creed@opengeospatial.org] Just a reminder that the GIS SC will teleconference today. The main agenda item is a motion to recommend the use of GML Simple Feature profile to the full TC for use in OASIS standards.
