I do not cry often. I wept today and I raged, angry that others have done
this to us, angry that we have reached a position in this world where others
see us in this manner.

I walked in the shadow of the World Trade center earlier this year. When I
was much younger I routinely rode the underground into the mall at the base
of the Pentagon. I saw the people there for what they were. People. Not
drones, not evil bureaucrats, but simply people doing a job. It puts things
into perspective, painfully so.
