Subject: Re: [humanmarkup-comment] Re: [uiml-discuss] RE: founding member

Thanks for drawing these strings together for us, Rex.

Could you make a quick sketch of the flows here, as far as they can be
imagined at this point? IFF it isn't a big time-taker for you. A rough
starting point is this below, though I don't know if I'm reading you right;
is this it?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the WSIA point of view,
(where x is to indicate combination or "cross-product" and -> is an arrow
showing flow):
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

primary producers [of discourses]

x encoding for transmission and ultimately viewing/executing

-->

web services [markup-] language WSDL

x used in "portlet" software, e.g., Java with term space from JSR 168
established by Java Community Process group

--- --> via SOAP protocol pass-thru

 --> user lookup registries (e.g., UDDI)

 --> User

x browser or other client-side app for viewing/executing

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wanted to add a couple of interesting issues from today's meeting
of the WSRP-WSIA Joint Interface group, which is rapidly becoming
indistinguishable from one larger TC, but which is getting
hellaciously complicated, and those are that there are various kinds
of ways in which UIs will be accommodated in that specification.
