Subject: [legalxml-enotary] Source Materials: Draft Copy of Model Notary Act

Dear
fellow eNotary Technical Committee members,
It
was a pleasure speaking with you all on the conference call today. As
promised, here is a draft copy of the Model Notary Act. Please note
Title III, the Electronic Notarization section. I have also attached a
more current version of Chapter 19. I was on the Drafting Committee for
this legislation and I think it offers a solid framework to deal with the
situation in which a live person performs an electronic notarization.
Fully automated transactions were deliberately left out of the scope of this
approach, but we as a Technical Committee will have to grapple with that
scenario as well.
Best
regards,
- Daniel Greenwood
