Subject: Some information on my status
Friends, Due to some events in the key-management space, there is an open ballot to determine the future of the OASIS EKMI TC I currently chair. Regardless of the outcome of this ballot, I have chosen to step down from the Chair position of this TC at the conclusion of the ballot. Of more useful significance to the LegalXML eNotary TC members is that I will not be renewing my OASIS membership when it expires in 6 weeks. The impact of this is that, starting in April 2009, not being an OASIS member - barring any contractual vehicle - I will be unable to participate in any official eNotary TC communication and work. I would like to see the ENML Specification released for Public Review before April so that I can help with any changes while I can (as I committed to the TC). I regret I will not be around to help with updates to the spec (if any) subsequent to the PR. WRT to speaking about ENML at forums where it may be of interest, time-permitting, I will try to help out. However, the events in the key-management space I alluded to, require a renewed and sharpened focus from me, so I cannot promise my availability. It has been a sincere pleasure working with you all, gentlemen. I consider the ENML specification to be amongst my finest works and I am very proud of its visionary capabilities. I thank you all for trusting me with this work and look forward to reading about it as an OASIS standard, hopefully, later this year. Mary, if there is anything more I need to do with the ENML spec document, please work with me to so I can help with what I can over the next 6 weeks to complete it. Thank you all. Arshad
