OASIS News 8 Oct 2001 Welcome to OASIS News, a publication for the OASIS membership community providing updates on Consortium announcements, accomplishments and activities. OASIS News is published twice a month. ---------------------- OASIS TC ANNOUNCEMENTS ---------------------- OASIS formed a Joint Committee (JC) to coordinate ebXML technical work within the Consortium. Each of the four OASIS ebXML TCs will appoint representatives to the JC. Chairmanship will be rotated among the chairs of these TCs, with Dale Moberg (Cyclone Commerce) of the OASIS ebXML CPPA TC serving first. ----------------- OASIS TC MEETINGS ----------------- OASIS HumanMarkup TC will hold its next meeting 17 Oct. Please notify Darran Rolls (Darran.Rolls@waveset.com) at least 15 days prior to the first meeting. -------------------- CONSORTIUM HEADLINES -------------------- TopicMaps.Org Moves Development Efforts to OASIS: ISO Standard for Navigating Information to Be Advanced by OASIS TCs OASIS added support for XML Topics Maps (XTM) to its technical agenda, as TopicMaps.Org moved its development to OASIS. XTM (ISO/IEC 13250:2000) provides a model for organizing, retrieving and navigating information resources. Topic maps applications include the semantic web, distributed ontologies, business processes, workflow, search and retrieval tools, knowledge management, diplomatic communication and cultural dialogue. http://www.oasis-open.org/news/oasis_news_10_02_01.shtml ------- XML.org ------- XML.org seeks OASIS members interested in participating in a focus group designed to enhance the resources and services of the XML.org portal.
