OASIS News is published twice a month. ----------------------------- TC ANNOUNCEMENTS AND MEETINGS ----------------------------- Three new OASIS technical committees are being formed, the following are the Calls For Participation: The OASIS Published Subjects for Geography and Languages Technical Committee (GeoLang TC) http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200201/msg00011.html The OASIS Vocabulary for XML Standards and Technologies Technical Committee (XMLvoc TC) http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200201/msg00012.html The OASIS Web Services Remote Portal Technical Committee (WSRP TC) http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200201/msg00013.html OASIS Conformance TC has published a new working draft of its Conformance Requirements for Specifications document, they are actively seeking public comments on this draft. They will hold the next meeting via teleconference 15 Feb 10:00-11:00am (US EST). http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/ioc/#documents OASIS issued an open invitation for public input on the creation of its XSLT/XPath Conformance Test Suite. Formal submissions from both IBM/Lotus and Microsoft have already been received by the OASIS XSLT Technical Committee http://www.oasis-open.org/news/oasis_news_01_07_02.shtml OASIS CIQ TC will be represented at the United States Postal Services meeting to be held in Florida on 30 Jan. OASIS CIQ TC welcomes the following new members: Mr. Nikolaj Nyholm and Joe Lubenow http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/ciq/ OASIS ebXML Collaboration Protocol Profile and Agreement TC will hold a three day face-to-face meeting 28-30 Jan at CommerceOne, San Francisco http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/ebxml-cppa/meetings/sanfrancisco_20 02.shtml OASIS Election and Voter Services TC will be represented at WEST 2002 by Gregg McGilvray as a participant on the "Workshop on Election Standards and Technology" panel in Washington, D.C. on 31 Jan http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/election/ OASIS Topic Maps Published Subjects TC will hold its next meeting via teleconference 29 Jan 16.00-18.00 UTC and its next face-to-face meeting 14 Mar at Seattle Knowledge Technologies 2002 http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tm-pubsubj/ Members of the OASIS Web Services Component Model (WSCM) TC voted to changes the group's name to the OASIS Web Services for Interactive Applications (WSIA) TC, in order to better describe the purpose of their work. The TC was founded to develop a Web services component model for interactive applications, and members wished to communicate the specific focus of their development efforts on interactive, human-facing, Web services. The TC is now in the process of collecting appropriate use cases that will drive technical requirements for the spec. http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/wsia/ ------------------------ CONSORTIUM ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------------------ OASIS Members Form Technical Committee to Develop Localization Interchange File Format OASIS announced its members have formed the OASIS XML Localization Interchange File Format (XLIFF) Technical Committee to advance a specification for multi-lingual data exchange. XLIFF will allow any software provider to produce a single interchange format that can be delivered to and understood by any localization service provider.
