The new Director of Standards Development and Technical Committee Administration will maximize the ability of OASIS members to create quality standards, specifications, and related documents that meet both the requirements of the OASIS TC Process and the needs of the international community. The responsibilities of the job focus on providing TC participants with necessary instruction, guidance, assistance, and arbitration. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/201101/msg00006.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TestCases for SCA Policy Framework public review begins The document provides a series of tests that a Service Component Architecture (SCA) runtime must pass in order to claim conformance to the requirements of the SCA Policy. This public review ends 6 Feb. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/201101/msg00003.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SCA JMS Binding public review begins The specification provides the means for SCA composites and components to connect and access services using a messaging protocol. The JMS binding is especially well suited for use by services and references of composites that are directly deployed. This public review ends 10 Feb. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/201101/msg00005.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TC approves "State of ODF Interoperability" The new Committee Specification discusses specific areas for improving interoperability among applications that support the OpenDocument Format (ODF). http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/201101/msg00000.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LISA and OASIS to host webinar on localization standards Dr. Arle Lommel of the Localization Industry Standards Association (LISA) and James Bryce Clark from OASIS will present and moderate a discussion on how standards for global content production can be improved. This webinar will gauge interest in forming a new OASIS Technical Committee on Localization Interoperability as well as related joint OASIS and LISA activities. To accommodate as many time zones as possible, the webinar will be offered twice on 10 Feb. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/announce/201101/msg00002.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ OASIS eGov Member Section holds elections for Steering Committee Nominations are now open for five seats on the eGov Member Section Steering Committee. Bringing together representatives from global, regional, national and local government agencies, OASIS eGov provides a platform for those who share a common interest in directing and understanding the impact of open standards on the public sector. All Member Section participants are invited to nominate qualified candidates and/or consider serving.
