AMQP 1.0 becomes OASIS Standard

Members have approved the Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP) 1.0 as an OASIS Standard. AMQP is a wire-level messaging protocol that offers organizations an efficient, reliable approach to passing real-time data and business transactions with confidence. AMQP provides a platform-agnostic method for ensuring information is safely transported between applications, among organizations, within mobile infrastructures, and across the Cloud. Congratulations to the AMQP TC co-chairs, Ram Jeyaraman of Microsoft and Angus Telfer of INETCO, and to all TC participants including representatives of Axway, Bank of America, Deutsche Boerse, Goldman Sachs, Huawei, Kaazing, JPMorgan Chase, Microsoft, Primeton, Progress Software, Red Hat, Software AG, US Dept of Homeland Security, and VMware for this accomplishment.

Cloud AuthZ TC forms

This group will develop models for context-based authorization--knowing when and where users are, what they are doing, which device they are using, etc., and applying this information to authorization decisions. TC Proposers include Sponsors, Axiomatics, Intel, Quest, RedHat, Sailpoint, and Yaana. Abbie Barbir of Bank of America serves as convener; a TC chair or two co-chairs will be elected at the first meeting, which will be held by teleconference on 4 Dec. All interested parties are invited to participate; contact join@oasis-open.org for details.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Privacy by Design Documentation for Software Engineers (PbD-SE) TC forms

The TC will define governance and documentation standards where privacy is built directly into the design and operation, not only of technology, but also of operational systems, work processes, management structures, physical spaces, and networked infrastructure. TC members include SecureKey Technologies, Tiani "Spirit", Canada Office of the Information & Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, and others. Dawn Jutla of Saint Mary’s University serves as convener; a TC chair or two co-chairs will be elected at the first meeting, which will be held by teleconference on 5 Dec. All interested parties are invited to participate; contact join@oasis-open.org for details.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AMQP Bindings and Mappings TC forms

This group will define bindings of AMQP 1.0 core protocol to underlying transports other than TCP and will define mappings of the AMQP 1.0 core protocol to well-known programming APIs. It will also describe representations of the AMQP 1.0 message format in existing languages. Laurie Bryson of JPMorgan Chase is the convener; a TC chair or two co-chairs will be elected at the first meeting, which will be held by teleconference on 27 Nov. All interested parties are invited to participate; contact join@oasis-open.org for details.

Field Force Management (FFM) TC approves deliverables

The FFM Integration Interface Specification 1.0 has been published as a Committee Specification, and the FFM Integration Interface Requirements 1.0 has been published as a Committee Note. These documents define a flexible interface between Enterprise Resource Management Systems (ERMS) and Field Force Management Systems (FFMS). Congratulations to all FFM TC members on achieving this milestone.
