OASIS BIAS Integration TC Forms

The new OASIS Biometric Identity Assurance Services (BIAS) Integration
Technical Committee will be developing a standard for invoking
biometrics-based identity assurance using Web services and service
oriented architectures (SOA). Complementing the efforts of the
InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS),
the TC will define the methods and bindings for XML-based transactional
services using the INCITS taxonomy framework for deploying identity
assurance in the biometrics and security industries. The OASIS BIAS
Integration Technical Committee will operate under Royalty Free on
Limited Terms mode, as defined by the OASIS Intellectual Property Rights
Policy.

The World Conservation Union (IUCN) and OASIS have formalized an

OASIS and ITU-T Jointly Sponsor 'Workshop and Demonstration of Advances
in ICT Standards for Public Warning.'

OASIS is pleased to announce the first international workshop and
demonstration/exhibition focusing on standards for public warning which
will occur on 19-20 October 2006 in Geneva, Switzerland. This program
has been designed to build upon the results of the earlier ITU-T
Workshop on Telecommunications for Disaster Relief that emphasized the
practical application of standards for public warnings. The workshop
will review the work by Standards Development Organizations (SDOs) in
related areas; identify standardization gaps and discover collaboration
opportunities for key players from both the public and private sectors.
In addition, the two-day workshop will feature an emergency management
interoperability demonstration of the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP)
OASIS standard, as well as presentations and exhibitions by various
players active in public warning.
