Subject: RE: [obix] Two open questions regarding WebSocket

1)      I would imagine most obix servers would not support delete for most objects, because they’d be fixed functionality.  But a programmable server, or perhaps a PC-based application where you created points to map data values from other locations, might have a delete capability.

2)      I prefer the ‘outer border’ one in the abstract, but not enough to recommend changing it given the effort required.

1)      What does delete mean in OBIX? (This sensor will self-destruct in 10 seconds.)

2)      Multiple folks worked for a week on that odd table, I am loath to change it again.

[obix] Two open questions regarding WebSocket

Hi all,

I'm currently preparing the WebSocket update and have two quick questions for all:

1) in the SOAP binding there is no "Delete" functionality mentioned; in the WebSocket I just stated until now but was wondering if there, next to obix:Read, obix:Write, obix:Invoke and obix:Update, should be an obix:Delete type?

Delete

If an object has an delete operation defined this operation is used

Any object with delete operation

2) Chris reviewed the draft and in
https://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OBIX-86 he mentioned that "Since the cell borders are not aligned, it may be better to not use those borders at all." What do you think about that suggestion?

Currently:

Only with the outer borders:

Without borders:
