[ocpp] Nomination of Rish Ghatikar for Chair of the OASIS OCPP TC

Dear OASIS OCPP TC members,

 

We welcome your participation in standardization OCPP ad to enable widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs).

 

With consent from the Open Charge Alliance (OCA) Board members, Greenlots would like to take this opportunity to nominate Mr. Rish Ghatikar as the Co-Chair for the OASIS OCPP Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Data Exchange Technical Committee (TC).

 

Mr. Ghatikar comes with an extensive background, as a former deputy leader for Grid Integration Group at U.S. Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and former Chief Research Officer at Greenlots. Over the years, Ghatikar has successfully led technology development for electric grid transactions and automated demand response, early-stage analysis for electric vehicle grid integration, and enabled California to adopt dynamic pricing programs and mandatory grid automation in building codes. Mr. Ghatikar has led research on technologies and open standards for grid integration and chief-architect for a globally adopted DR communications standard, Open Automated DR or OpenADR, including the establishment of the OpenADR Alliance and to bring laboratory technology and knowledge to the marketplace.

 

In this Co-Chair role, we are confident that Mr. Ghatikar can work with all the TC members and ensure that OCPP is on an expedited standardization track within OASIS and is aligned with the IEC for global standardization. Mr. Ghatikar’s experience in the processes for OASIS, as an organizational representative of LNBL, secretary for Energy Interoperation TC, and steering committee member for OASIS Blue; and the IEC, as the member of the PC118 and US national committee technical advisory group member makes him a suitable candidate to drive the OCPP standardization efforts.
