Dear SC,

Attached please find a letter I received from Ken T. Murata of the Center
for Information Technology, at Ehime University in Japan.

Peter, I'd like to establish contact with Murata-san on this. Either
directly or as part of this group.
I've also given the Daisy braille sub group the heads up.

By all means.  I haven't replied to him yet, so please tell me that I pass this along to our SC for discussions, and you had some questions for him.

If nothing else, a mapping of the odf schema to his braille-xml?
Perhaps the schema
he is using? I don't know if his software will be open sourced but
access if that's what he
chooses?

How would you guys like to follow this up?

I'd like to put this on the agenda for our next meeting.  As discussions from Patrick and Rob point out on the main TC alias, we may have some of the markup he is seeking.  So our tasks are to (a) understand exactly what he wants to do; and then (b) figure out what changes (if any) are needed in ODF to accomplish it; and finally if needed (c) work out how to add any needed markup & UI.
