Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-1531) Editor Note: Section17.334 meta:object-count

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-1531?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=11577#action_11577 ]

Robert Weir commented on OFFICE-1531:
--------------------------------------

Depending on how exactly the Packaging specification ends up, I could see widening the permissible embedded XML objects to also allow others that follow the same packaging model, in terms of use of manifest, etc. But widening this up in general seems to lead to problems.

Also, are there any limitations on the embedded ODF documents? For example, can they be encrypted? Have digital signatures? Can these be done to the sub document alone? Or can they only be done at the same time (and with the same keys) as the parent document?

I'd like to see us more formally map these subdocuments into the concepts we define in the packaging part. In other words, the concept of subdocuments might end up being a packaging thing, not an ODF thing.

> Section 17.334 meta:object-count
> Ed. Note We have graphic "objects," drawing "objects," and 3D "objects," etc., so I am guessing that <draw:object> goes here, in parallel to draw:object-ole. Not immediately obvious or why <draw:object> gets a separate count.
