Hi,

thanks for the feedback - very late,
but not too late.

I am not a native speaker, but I think
"adopt" and "adoption" are English words with the meaning
of "take over" resp. "takeover" (German: "übernehmen"
bzw. "Übernahme")
If "adapt" is fitting better
here, I do not know.
I also think that the BRM attendees
will understand both terms and the terms will not be part of any specification.
May be a native speaker could provide
feedback.

I would like to go with the current
text as we all had already agreed on it and for me it seems that "adopt"
vs "adapt" is a minor issue in this context.
Nevertheless, I will hold back the notification
to Jamie Clark until 15:00 (UTC+1)

there's a little typo in the response to JP3:

"Note: adopting ODF 1.2 would cause certain compatibility issues as
the
changes in XmlDsig-Core version 1.1 are significant."

"adopting" should be "adapting", no?

the preceding paragraph is

"We plan to consider a corresponding adoption for the next version
of ODF."

i'm not sure if "adoption" is valid English meaning "use"
or "refer to"
in this particular context; "adaption" might fit better.
