Indeed, having lots of commit messages on the main mailing list can be
annoying... Actually I'm more concerned about the archiving part (at
least most email clients allow you to create move-to-another-folder
rules, but things will get a bit messy in the mail archive)

I've suggested OASIS to create a separate mailing list for those
messages (common practice among developers)

Mary: could you perhaps give us an update on that issue ? Is it possible
to have such a separate list, or otherwise turn off the commit mails ?

Well, that is really annoying.  I don't know if we should be getting
commit messages when some bozo like orcmid is fooling around seeing how
to get SVN to work for him.

One valuable thing was noticing that directories _private/ and images/
were created.  That was an artifact of the WebDAV client that I used.
It created those folders on my local system so that I could make a web
site (I was using FrontPage), and I didn't realize those would
synchronize too.  I will see how to delete them.

But I really think that commit messages should not go to this list.
There are going to be *lots* of them and it will be very irritating.
